HSMAI Brazil and Latin America is taking the heads of chapters from the region to the Commercial Strategy Conference 2026 in the United States

The Latin American delegation participated in the discussions that are defining the future of business strategy in the global hotel industry, from the economic scenario to the role of artificial intelligence.

HSMAI (Hospitality Sales and Marketing Association International) Brazil and Latin America brought chapter heads from across the region to participate in the HSMAI Commercial Strategy Conference 2026 (CSC), held on June 16 and 17 at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center in San Antonio, Texas. Organized by HSMAI, the event brought together hospitality business leaders from around the world for keynote speeches, 28 breakout sessions, partner showcases, and networking opportunities.

For Gabriela Otto, president of HSMAI Brazil and Latam, the region's participation in the main business strategy event for the global hotel industry represents an important step in bringing the Latin American market closer to the discussions that shape the sector's global agenda.

“Taking the heads of our chapters to the Commercial Strategy Conference means putting Latin America at the heart of the conversation that is defining the future of the hotel industry. We are returning with a very clear vision of where the market is headed and with a commitment to bringing these trends closer to the reality of our hotels and professionals in the region,” he explains.

The CSC is the evolution of HSMAI's traditional Revenue Optimization Conference (ROC) and Marketing Strategy Conference, now unified into a single event that brings together sales, marketing, revenue management, and distribution under the concept of integrated business strategy. According to Brian Hicks, President and Global CEO of HSMAI, the hospitality industry is undergoing a period of accelerated transformation that demands a more integrated and agile business approach. That is precisely the purpose of the conference: to bring together the most innovative minds in the sector to rethink what lies ahead.

Among the topics that marked the debates of the CSC 2026, the following stood out:

  • Economic and geopolitical scenario: the session “New Realities Ahead: Navigating North America's Economic and Geopolitical Crosswind” addressed how macroeconomic and geopolitical uncertainties directly impact hotel business strategies;
  • The end of siloed operations: hotels and hotel chains are moving towards integrated business structures, where sales, marketing, revenue management and distribution operate together, with a single view of data throughout the guest experience;
  • Revenue beyond the room: hotels are exploring the commercial potential of areas such as food and beverage as a revenue strategy and not just as a complementary operation, the central theme of the session “Beyond the Menu: Unlocking F&B Revenue Potential”;
  • Hospitality as a revenue driver: guest experience is gaining prominence within business strategies, with sessions such as “Enhanced Hospitality” showing how care and service are directly connected to the financial results of operations;
  • Fan culture applied to the hotel industry: the session “From Occupancy to Obsession: What Hotels Can Learn from Fan Culture” presented an innovative look at how to generate engagement and loyalty from guests by drawing inspiration from fandoms;
  • Technology and AI at the forefront of commerce: presentations of various artificial intelligence solutions for demand forecasting, dynamic pricing and automation of revenue management and distribution processes.

HSMAI Brazil and Latam together with global leadership

During the event, the Latin American delegation also met with Brian Hicks, President and CEO of HSMAI, in a meeting that symbolizes the growing closer ties between the organization's global leadership and the region, which is gaining increasing prominence within the association. Currently, HSMAI Brazil and Latin America has boards in eight chapters across various countries that actively participate in international discussions.

This document establishes the terms and conditions that regulate the relationship between the HSMAI LATA ASSOCIATION, represented in accordance with its statutes, hereinafter "the ASSOCIATION" or "HSMAI", and the natural person who registers under any of the available forms of membership, hereinafter "the ASSOCIATE".

1. General Considerations
1.1 Membership is personal and non-transferable. Each member will be entitled to the benefits described in Section 5 of this document.
1.2 By completing your registration through the official website of the ASSOCIATION (hsmaibrasil.org), the ASSOCIATE expressly declares his/her willingness to join, accepting and submitting to both the statutes and the stipulated conditions.

1.3 The application for membership will be evaluated by the Board of Directors of HSMAI BRASIL, in accordance with the provisions of the entity's bylaws.

2. Contribution and Access to Benefits
2.1 The ASSOCIATE may choose the value of its contribution from the options available on the website: hsmaibrasil.org/associe-se2.
2.2 Only members who are up to date with their payments will be able to access the benefits described in clause 5.
2.3 In the event of non-payment, access to the site and benefits will be automatically suspended and may be reactivated once outstanding fees have been regularized, without prior notice.
2.4 In the case of automatic renewal, the value of the contribution will be adjusted annually based on the IPCA index.

3. Validity and Renewal
3.1 The ASSOCIATE agrees to maintain his/her active membership for a minimum period of 12 (twelve) months, which implies making 12 monthly payments.
3.2 If you do not express your wish to cancel, the membership will be automatically renewed for a new 12-month period.
3.3 Each renewal will also entail a new minimum loyalty commitment for 12 months.

4. Cancellation and Penalties
4.1 If the MEMBER wishes to cancel their membership, they must notify the ASSOCIATION in writing at least 30 days before the end of the 12-month period. Otherwise, their membership will be automatically renewed for another year.
4.2 Early cancellation entails payment of a penalty proportional to the time remaining in the loyalty period, as well as reimbursement of the benefits received as a member, the value of which will be determined by the ASSOCIATION.
4.3 Members excluded for non-payment may be reinstated by paying the outstanding dues and completing a new membership process.

5. Benefits for Active Members
5.1 Free access to all open events organized by HSMAI in Brazil and Latin America.
5.2 Receiving the weekly HSMAI Insights newsletters on international sales, marketing and revenue management.
5.3 Preferential access with special conditions to HSMAI Academy courses, certifications and webinars (academy.hsmai.org).
5.4 Networking opportunities with national and international professionals.

6. Final Conditions
6.1 By registering as a member on the ASSOCIATION's virtual platform, I declare that:

• I agree to comply with all obligations arising from my membership while it is valid.

Jurisdiction: For the interpretation of this contract and the resolution of any potential disputes, the parties agree to submit to the courts of the Capital District of the State of São Paulo, expressly waiving any other jurisdiction, however privileged.

Membership Terms and Conditions – HSMAI LATAM

This document establishes the terms and conditions that regulate the relationship between the HSMAI LATA ASSOCIATION, represented in accordance with its statutes, hereinafter "the ASSOCIATION" or "HSMAI", and the natural person who registers under any of the available forms of membership, hereinafter "the ASSOCIATE".

1. General Considerations
1.1 Membership is personal and non-transferable. Each member will be entitled to the benefits described in Section 5 of this document.
1.2 By completing your registration through the official website of the ASSOCIATION (hsmaibrasil.org), the ASSOCIATE expressly declares his/her willingness to join, accepting and submitting to both the statutes and the stipulated conditions.

1.3 The application for membership will be evaluated by the Board of Directors of HSMAI BRASIL, in accordance with the provisions of the entity's bylaws.

2. Contribution and Access to Benefits
2.1 The ASSOCIATE may choose the value of its contribution from the options available on the website: hsmaibrasil.org/associe-se2.
2.2 Only members who are up to date with their payments will be able to access the benefits described in clause 5.
2.3 In the event of non-payment, access to the site and benefits will be automatically suspended and may be reactivated once outstanding fees have been regularized, without prior notice.
2.4 In the case of automatic renewal, the value of the contribution will be adjusted annually based on the IPCA index.

3. Validity and Renewal
3.1 The ASSOCIATE agrees to maintain his/her active membership for a minimum period of 12 (twelve) months, which implies making 12 monthly payments.
3.2 If you do not express your wish to cancel, the membership will be automatically renewed for a new 12-month period.
3.3 Each renewal will also entail a new minimum loyalty commitment for 12 months.

4. Cancellation and Penalties
4.1 If the MEMBER wishes to cancel their membership, they must notify the ASSOCIATION in writing at least 30 days before the end of the 12-month period. Otherwise, their membership will be automatically renewed for another year.
4.2 Early cancellation entails payment of a penalty proportional to the time remaining in the loyalty period, as well as reimbursement of the benefits received as a member, the value of which will be determined by the ASSOCIATION.
4.3 Members excluded for non-payment may be reinstated by paying the outstanding dues and completing a new membership process.

5.1 Free access to all open events organized by HSMAI in Brazil and Latin America.
5.2 Receiving the weekly HSMAI Insights newsletters on international sales, marketing and revenue management.

6. Final Conditions
6.1 By registering as a member on the ASSOCIATION's virtual platform, I declare that:
• I fully understand and accept the terms set forth in this document and in the HSMAI bylaws.
• I agree to comply with all obligations arising from my membership while it is valid.

Jurisdiction: For the interpretation of this contract and the resolution of any potential disputes, the parties agree to submit to the courts of the Capital District of the State of São Paulo, expressly waiving any other jurisdiction, however privileged.

4.1 If the MEMBER wishes to cancel their membership, they must notify the ASSOCIATION in writing at least 30 days before the end of the 12-month period. Otherwise, their membership will be automatically renewed for another year.
4.2 Early cancellation entails payment of a penalty proportional to the time remaining in the loyalty period, as well as reimbursement of the benefits received as a member, the value of which will be determined by the ASSOCIATION.
